ethics (photo manipulation)

University of Wisconsin-Madison officials inserted a black students face digitally into a photograph of white Badger football fans in order to promote the University as a racially diverse campus. The doctored picture was used on the cover of their undergraduate application. University officials are now considering reprinting covers for some of the 110,000 brochures, which had been completely revamped for the first time in several years. The decision to use the digitally altered photo came several weeks ago, while UW officials were deciding what photo to use on the cover of the application.
I thought it was wrong for the university officials to alter the photo because the black student wasn't really a part of the fans and it doesn't show that the university was racally diverse, it shows that they pretend to have a diversity but they really don't. It was obvious that the black student was not a part of the picture.
I think it was wrong for newsweek to edit McCaughney's teeth because they shouldn't edit ones teeth just because they don't like they way they are. It's basically saying "it's cool that you had septuplets, but we hate your teeth."
I don't think its that wrong to move pyramids closer together to fit into vertical space. As long as editing is used to fit space and not becasue you just don't like the way it looks.
